Artist's Description
This was painted at the start of the war in Ukraine. I was moved beyond words and used painting as an outlet. The Ukrainian colors and symbols were added. The hands were added as a way to represent the hope and prayers as the world tries to lift that country out of it's situation. The placement of the sunflower shows it is living on and shining.
About Karina Repp
Karina is an artist, trained at Youngstown State University, with seventeen years of freelance work and professional experience. She has received numerous awards for her work, most recently receiving Honorable Mention through Fusion Art for their Colors competition 04/10/23. Nature, seascapes, and wildlife are typical subjects of her work. She sees God as a master craftsman and finds beauty in his creations. By closely cropping and using vivid colors she intends for the viewer to look closer at the world in which they live for an aesthetic experience.
